"I will protect you" - θα σε προστατεύσω

The castle of Agia Mavra in Lefkada is an imposing medieval castle just before the island entry. It was built around the 1300's and has been besieged 12 times over it's history, but still stands in good shape like a guardian at the entry of the island Lefkada, these days protecting it symbolically from the invaders.

It still features a strong and protective aura, standing resolute against the backdrop of a clear blue sunrise, with the sun glow hitting the left hand side of the castle.

Standing in front of it 700 years later on a July morning, I can still feel it's aura, shouting to me "I will protect you".
